Vy Capital owns a 3.4% stake in SpaceX, according to a filing. The firm is also the largest outside investor in BoringCo and Neuralink, and committed $700 million to Musk's Twitter acquisition. The disclosure places the low-profile venture capital firm among the rocket maker's largest shareholders.
Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface startup Neuralink closes a $650 million Series E round. Investors include ARK Invest, Founders Fund, Sequoia Capital, and Thrive Capital. Neuralink says it has implanted its brain chips in five people with severe paralysis and received FDA breakthrough device designation for a speech-restoration device in May. Semafor reported that the round values the company at around $9 billion pre-money.
Neuralink, the Elon Musk-founded company developing implantable chips that read brain waves, raises an additional $43 million in venture capital, according to an SEC filing. The filing shows the company has increased a previous tranche led by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund from $280 million to $323 million.
