Panther Global, Inc. was a Tampa-based remote-work company founded in 2020 and led by chief executive Matt Redler. Its platform bundled employer-of-record services, multi-country payroll, tax and compliance, and benefits administration so businesses could hire and pay employees and contractors in more than 160 countries without establishing local entities. After launching in February 2021, Panther raised a $2.5 million seed round in May 2021 led by Tribe Capital and Carta Ventures, with participation from Eric Ries.
The company was built for the post-2020 surge in distributed hiring, but wound down operations in mid-2023 as funding tightened and competition intensified among larger employer-of-record providers, folding its clients into a competing platform. Panther Global is now closed.
