Parallel’s autonomous battery-electric rail system integrates into today’s rail operations to deliver a safer, cheaper alternative to trucking.
Trucking represents a massive portion of domestic freight movement—consuming 45 billion gallons of diesel annually and making up 7% of U.S. emissions. Parallel is building technology that modernizes how freight moves, helping shift a portion of this volume from road to rail through smarter, more efficient solutions.

Parallel Systems raises a $100 million Series C to scale its autonomous, battery-powered Panther freight vehicles and accelerate commercial rollout. Founded in 2020 by former SpaceX rocket-avionics designers, the company says its vehicles can move several tons of freight up to 500 miles, independently or in short platoons, and split up at rail yards without human intervention. The vehicles have operated on 160 miles of track near Savannah while the company verifies safety controls ahead of its first commercial payload.
