IBM introduces a generally available self-hosted deployment option for its Bob agentic software development platform, letting enterprises use AI in on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud and air-gapped environments. Customers can run supported Nvidia Nemotron or Poolside Laguna models locally, or connect Bob to external model services in hybrid configurations; supported local setups keep source code, development context and build artifacts in customer-managed infrastructure. Bob retains capabilities including its BobShell integrated development environment, parallel tool calling, skills and operating modes, and helps developers analyze applications, plan changes, carry out development work and validate results.
