Psilera has built a best-in-class proprietary compound library covering over one million novel compounds across six serotonergic compound families, with 13 patents filed and two issued by the USPTO. This deep intellectual property portfolio creates significant barriers to entry in the neuroplastogen space.
The company's leadership brings over 100 years of combined experience in biotech and pharmaceutical industries, with co-founders who have created over $1.5 billion in cumulative value from prior startups. Recent strategic moves, including the licensing agreement with AtaiBeckley for DMT patents, further strengthen its competitive position.

The neuroplastogen market represents a rapidly evolving segment within psychedelic-inspired medicine, attracting increasing investor and regulatory interest. The 2026 White House executive order on accelerating medical treatments for serious mental illness signals growing federal support for innovative psychiatric therapies.
Neuroplastogens are increasingly viewed as commercially attractive because they may avoid logistical and regulatory complexities associated with hallucinogenic therapies. Companies capable of combining differentiated chemistry, defensible IP, and clinically practical treatment models are positioned for pharmaceutical partnership opportunities.

Psilera closed an oversubscribed $8.8 million Series Seed extension in May 2026, led by a syndicate of institutional and strategic investors. The funding will advance PSIL-006 toward first-in-human trials in 2027 and support the company's transition from discovery-stage to clinical-stage operations.
Key milestones include the appointment of Dr. Magali Haas as Chief Medical Officer, receipt of up to $2 million in NIH funding for IND-enabling studies, and execution of a strategic DMT patent licensing agreement with AtaiBeckley. The company continues to advance its wholly owned pipeline of novel therapeutic neuroplastogens through next-generation precision neuropharmacology.

PSIL-006 is Psilera's lead clinical asset, a first-in-class neuroplastogen designed to harness therapeutic benefits of traditional psychedelic compounds while minimizing hallucinogenic effects and cardiovascular risks. The compound targets neurological and psychiatric disorders with a precision neuropharmacology approach.
Unlike first-generation psychedelic therapies requiring supervised administration, PSIL-006 is engineered for integration into conventional healthcare systems. The company plans to advance PSIL-006 into first-in-human trials in 2027, supported by an NIH funding award of up to $2 million for IND-enabling studies in alcohol use disorder.
