
REGENT builds all-electric seagliders that float, foil and fly just above water for coastal transport.
REGENT develops and manufactures all-electric Seaglider vessels, wing-in-ground-effect craft that operate exclusively over water in three modes: floating on the hull, rising onto hydrofoils, and flying within one wingspan of the surface. Its 12-passenger Viceroy vessel is designed for 180 mph over routes up to 180 miles and uses existing dock infrastructure rather than airports.
The company also builds Squire, an autonomous Seaglider drone aimed at defense missions including contested logistics, medical evacuation and reconnaissance, and has announced a larger 50-to-100-passenger Monarch vessel. Because Seagliders stay within a wingspan of the water, United States regulation places them under the Coast Guard rather than the FAA and they are operated by certified mariners.
REGENT targets coastal and island commuter corridors, a segment it argues neither regional aircraft nor conventional ferries serve well on time or cost. The company cites the roughly 40 percent of the world's population living in coastal communities as its addressable base.
Near-term outcomes hinge on United States Coast Guard certification of the Viceroy, for which REGENT submitted a design basis agreement in March 2025 and continues review with classification society Lloyd's Register. After the August 2026 Series B and the September 2026 crewed flight, the company is shifting from prototype testing into production, with international programs in the UAE, Poland and Greece.
Maritime rather than aviation regulation is REGENT's structural advantage: Coast Guard oversight and mariner crewing avoid FAA type certification and airspace integration, and the vessels use existing docks instead of new vertiport or runway infrastructure. Flying in ground effect also stretches battery range well past a comparable all-electric aircraft.
REGENT reports a commercial order book above $10 billion spanning six continents, a $15 million United States Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory contract, and a cooperative research agreement with United States Special Operations Command, giving it demand on both the commercial and defense sides. Its 255,000-square-foot Rhode Island plant, completed in June 2026, puts production capacity in place ahead of first deliveries.
