Apple announces Apple Home Collection, a smart-home accessory lineup developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. It includes cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, thermostats, and temperature sensors, all managed through the Home app without separate apps or accounts; home data is end-to-end encrypted. Products begin arriving in December, with select accessories available starting in early 2027.

Schneider Electric plans to acquire PTC for $23.7 billion in an all-cash deal valuing the engineering software maker at $205 per share. PTC’s portfolio includes Creo for hardware design and simulation, while Schneider Electric’s software focuses on managing utilities, manufacturing operations, and data centers. Schneider expects €800 million in annual revenue synergies and €250 million in annual savings, and the companies expect the deal to close by the third quarter of 2027.
