A single Soraytec device combines metering, power quality, and event monitoring for distribution networks.
The Grid Intelligence System is a family of in-line devices that measure voltage, current and power directly on medium-voltage networks from 6 kV to 24 kV without conventional current or voltage transformers. It records power quality, including voltage and current total harmonic distortion up to the 72nd harmonic, voltage flicker, and event waveforms. The devices retrofit existing medium- and low-voltage infrastructure and communicate wirelessly to a data gateway.
Measured data feeds the Soraytec Platform, which provides real time grid data, power quality monitoring, event and waveform analysis, asset condition monitoring, fault detection and localization, and historical trends. Utilities and distribution system operators are the primary customers, with energy traders, insurers, renewable operators, and ESCOs taking the data as well.
