SSG.COM is an e-commerce platform with an online marketplace delivering groceries, fashion, and electronics and letting third-party dealers sell products.
SSG.com announces another divisional split to concentrate exclusively on its premium e-commerce segment. The move follows prior restructuring efforts aimed at sharpening its high-end retail offerings. The company operates in the digital commerce space, catering to luxury and high-value customer segments.
SSG.com’s board approves a spin-off of its lifestyle business division. The company will separate into two entities: SSG.com retains its grocery-focused e-commerce operations, while a new entity, tentatively named Shinsegae Mall, manages fashion, beauty, and lifestyle businesses.
Shinsegae and E-Mart jointly acquire all shares of SSG.com from Olympus Jeil No. 1, a financial investor. E-Mart gains 857,036 new shares, while Shinsegae acquires 459,456. After completion, E-Mart will hold 65.1% of SSG.com’s equity, and Shinsegae will control 34.9%. The transaction secures full operational control over the online platform.
Shinsegae Group restructures its operations by dividing its core businesses, E-Mart Inc. and Shinsegae Department Store, into two distinct subgroups. The move follows SSG.COM, an affiliate of Shinsegae, securing Olympus as a new financial investor. This restructuring marks a significant shift in the company’s leadership and operational strategy.
