Street Capital

Street Capital originated residential mortgages through a national network of independent mortgage brokers, funding them with wholesale deposits and by securitizing pools of insured loans. The lender served prime and near-prime borrowers who fell outside traditional bank lending criteria, including self-employed applicants and newcomers to Canada. Its lending subsidiary, Street Capital Bank of Canada, operated under a federal Schedule I bank charter.

Street Capital was acquired by RFA Capital Holdings Inc. by plan of arrangement and folded into RFA's lending operations under a retired brand.
