Suncor Energy's co-processed renewable diesel and biofuel production at its Edmonton and Montreal refineries.
Suncor Renewable Diesel is Suncor Energy's biofuel program combining co-processed renewable diesel at the Edmonton and Montreal refineries with the planned greenfield renewable diesel plant near Edmonton. Suncor uses tallow, used cooking oil, and Canadian-grown vegetable oils as bio-feedstocks alongside conventional crude streams to produce low-carbon diesel meeting federal Clean Fuel Regulations and provincial low-carbon fuel programs.
Suncor markets renewable and co-processed fuels through the Petro-Canada retail network and commercial cardlock channels across Canada. The program competes with Imperial Oil's Strathcona Renewable Diesel, Parkland co-processed renewable diesel, and Tidewater Renewables hydrogenation-derived renewable diesel in the Canadian low-carbon transportation fuels market.
