Thermopylae Aerospace develops pneumatically launched, foldable quadcopter interceptors designed to stop Group 2 and Group 3 aerial threats at a cost that makes mass drone attacks economically irrational. Founded in June 2025 by Ukrainian engineer Yehor Balytskyi, the Hawthorne, California company is building the SPART platform as a thermally guided interceptor that can launch from vehicles, vessels, or ground tubes.

SPART uses electric propulsion and thermal guidance to reach about 220 mph with up to twenty minutes of flight time, and it can be recovered and reused if it misses a target. The team completed an end-to-end demonstration at Edwards Air Force Base during Game of Drones 26-2 in July 2026 and is working through a U.S. Air Force evaluation for high-volume counter-UAS use.
