Udemy, Inc.: A leading ed-tech firm providing an innovative online learning platform since 2010.
Udemy competes in a market where the same buyer problem is addressed by a limited number of large catalogs. On the consumer side it is sold against subscription libraries such as LinkedIn Learning and Pluralsight and against the certificate catalogs run by Coursera and edX. For enterprise learning teams it meets those same providers along with dedicated corporate platforms such as Skillsoft Percipio.
The combination with Coursera removes one of those competitors and creates a single business serving both individual and organizational demand at considerably greater scale. The competitive question for the remaining brands turns on breadth of catalog, verified credentials, and integration into the systems where work happens, rather than on the size of the course library alone.

Udemy's consumer business supports two ways to buy: individual courses purchased outright with lifetime access, and a Personal Plan subscription that bundles a curated set of courses. The enterprise offering follows the same two-tier shape. A self-serve Team Plan is bought online for small groups, while an Enterprise Plan is sold through a sales process for larger organizations and adds single sign-on, learning-system integrations, and analytics.
Both enterprise tiers draw on the same course collection, and additional modules are packaged as add-ons rather than separate platforms. Those include the hands-on learning tier sold as Udemy Business Pro, a set of AI upskilling packages, cohort-based programs, and professional services sold alongside the platform.
