Product Overview

Vendo is an open-source customization layer that embeds in a software product and lets each end user build small features, micro-apps, and automations on top of it. Users describe what they want in plain language, and the layer assembles working interfaces and scheduled actions against the product's existing API.

The layer reads a product's theme, components, and API surface at install, runs generated code in sandboxes scoped to the signed-in user's permissions, and connects to external tools. A hosted cloud service adds collaboration, publishing, governance, and metered usage alongside the self-hosted open-source distribution.

Competitive Advantages

Vendo runs inside the customer's own product rather than as a separate chat surface, rendering generated micro-apps in the host's design system and enforcing the host's permission rules. The agent holds only the access of the signed-in user, and its actions are logged and approval-gated.

The Apache-2.0 open-source distribution and one-command install reduce adoption friction for engineering teams, and the company publishes a benchmark measuring the correctness of the interfaces its agent generates.

Pricing Strategy

Vendo is free to use in single-player form as open-source software, and its hosted cloud plans meter usage rather than charging per seat. A no-cost tier carries a monthly usage allowance, with paid tiers for collaboration and publishing, organization governance, and air-gapped self-hosting.

Each plan's price includes a matching amount of metered usage, and consumption beyond that allowance runs under an organization-set spending cap, which ties revenue to how much customers actually use the agent.
