Competitive Advantages
Which advantages over its rivals hold up, and why are they hard to copy?
Verizon's competitive advantages include its expansive fiber footprint of over 30 million premises following the Frontier acquisition, a dense 5G Ultra Wideband network, and strong free cash flow generation exceeding 1.5 billion annually. The company's converged mobility and broadband strategy positions it as a leader in mission-critical connectivity.
Additional strengths include enterprise-grade network slicing capabilities for first responders, award-winning wireless network reliability, and strategic partnerships with global enterprises. Verizon's scale allows it to deploy capital efficiently while maintaining network superiority against competitors.
Market Outlook
Is its category moving in its favor or against it?
Verizon's 2026 outlook reflects accelerating momentum in its strategic turnaround, with management raising adjusted EPS guidance to 5.0–6.0 percent growth. The company targets total retail postpaid phone net additions of 750,000 to one million and expects mobility and broadband service revenue growth of 2.0–3.0 percent.
Capital expenditures are planned at 6.0–6.5 billion, including a fiber build pace of at least 2.0 million passings. An example of published research
Unit Economics on TEKEVER, shown as an example.
TEKEVER's programme ceiling is up to £400 million over ten years, so revenue per aircraft cannot be computed; fleet size and the support TEKEVER carries set the conditions for value capture. The AR5 was selected to replace the ageing Watchkeeper drones, and on 24 July 2026 the Ministry of Defence published a transparency notice announcing a direct award to TEKEVER for Project CORVUS, with the notice not the contract itself.
The initial order will be for six AR5 drones, with up to 24 delivered by 2029. Subject to contract signature and final approvals, TEKEVER will support the capability for an initial period of at least five years, with options to extend. CORVUS will anchor TEKEVER's growing UK sovereign capability across engineering, manufacturing, training and operational support.
