Product Overview

Powercube is VFlowTech's modular vanadium redox flow battery product for long-duration energy storage. It is offered in 50kW/250kWh and 100kW/500kWh configurations and is designed for utility, commercial, microgrid and off-grid applications.

The product is complemented by an AI-driven cloud energy-management platform that optimises distributed energy usage, provides ancillary grid services and supports remote monitoring of deployed assets.

Market Outlook

VFlowTech targets the growing long-duration energy storage market driven by renewable-energy intermittency and grid decarbonisation. The company is scaling a 100 MWh manufacturing plant in India into a gigafactory and expanding deployments across Asia, the Middle East and other global markets.

It also invests in supply-chain activities including vanadium recycling, electrolyte innovation and membrane advancements to reduce costs and secure materials for large-scale VRFB adoption.

Competitive Advantages

VFlowTech's Powercube VRFB systems store energy in liquid electrolytes held in external tanks, allowing capacity to scale by adjusting tank volume rather than replacing hardware. The technology is non-flammable, does not degrade with repeated cycling, and is claimed to operate for more than 25 years with round-trip efficiency of about 80% at up to 100% depth of discharge.

The systems can operate in temperatures up to 55°C without active cooling, are configurable to both DC and AC installations, and are fully recyclable at end of life, addressing safety and longevity concerns associated with conventional lithium-ion batteries.
