The RM4 renal perfusion system from Waters Medical Systems performs hypothermic machine perfusion of one or two kidneys simultaneously inside a regulated cold environment, displaying and exporting perfusate flow, temperature, pressure, and renal resistance together with organ identifiers. The platform is FDA cleared, and the companion IGL-App lets clinical teams monitor RM4 perfusion data remotely.
Waters Medical Systems, the North American organ-preservation business of the IGL group, supplies the RM4 to transplant centers and organ recovery organizations that need objective perfusion assessment before implantation. The system competes in kidney machine perfusion against XVIVO's Kidney Assist Transport and Organ Recovery Systems' LifePort Kidney Transporter, addressing the same assessment-and-monitoring workflow BMI OrganBank targets with its OrganBank platform and planned BMI OrganIQ prediction tool.
