Leslie Paynter founded Alamance Community School with over thirteen years of experience as a school administrator and charter school leader.

The educator has served as an elementary teacher, grade-level chair, SIT chair, Teacher of the Year, and District Technology Committee member.

Alamance Community School focuses on helping students engage with real-world problems and develop innovative solutions.

The ACS Board holds 10 virtual meetings annually on the third Thursday of each month, open to the public unless in closed session.

ACS has established procedures that ensure that all children regardless of their circumstances and severity of their disability who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated.
