Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is a national laboratory of the United States Department of Energy, managed by Princeton University, that studies plasma, the fourth state of matter. Its research spans the development of fusion energy, fundamental plasma science and astrophysics, and low-temperature plasma applications for advanced manufacturing and microelectronics.
The laboratory reports more than 600 scientists, engineers, and operations staff. It works with Princeton University, industry partners, and federal, state, and local agencies, and it runs education and registered apprenticeship programs in fusion energy and engineering.
