Based in Emerald’s Toronto office, Raghu focuses on the Industrial IT and AI sectors. He is involved in all phases of the investment process, from sourcing and evaluating to supporting startups through exit. Seattle-based NLM Photonics adds Pangaea Ventures and Mitsubishi Chemical’s Diamond Edge Ventures as investors in a $13 million Series A2 round. Its Selerion organic electro-optic material replaces silicon in chip modulators and, the company says, performs 10 to 15 times more efficiently, targeting data-center and fiber-optic links. NLM has begun sending customers samples of 1.6- and 3.2-terabit chips, which it says are manufactured at GlobalFoundries.
