German startup QuantumDiamonds receives €76 million in non-dilutive public funding and raises a €15 million equity round to expand semiconductor testing equipment production in Munich. Its diamond-based quantum sensing detects defects across chip layers in a two-minute inspection, and the company is working to move from sample testing in labs to high-throughput quality control in factories. It has made commercial deployments in Taiwan and the U.S. and plans to double its engineering team over the next 12 months.

Cambridge spin-out Molyon is developing lithium-sulfur batteries using metallic molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as a cathode additive to prevent sulfur from dissolving and improve battery stability. The company says early phone-size prototypes deliver twice the energy of lithium-ion batteries. Molyon raises a $4.6 million seed round co-led by IQ Capital and Plural to build a Cambridge pilot facility and scale its material and cathode for prototype production.
