The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) is the world's first multi-sovereign venture capital fund, backed by 24 NATO member states. It invests directly in early-stage deep-tech and dual-use companies and acts as a limited partner in other funds across artificial intelligence, autonomy, quantum, biotechnology, and energy.
NIF anchors Allied strategic advantage by channeling patient capital into technologies critical to transatlantic security, and it has backed specialist European defence investors such as 201 Ventures. Its portfolio spans companies developing hypersonics, maritime sensing, cybersecurity, and autonomous systems across the Alliance.
