Wa'ed Ventures was launched by Saudi Aramco in 2013 as a $200 million corporate venture fund and expanded to $500 million in 2022. The firm rebranded from Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Ventures to Wa'ed Ventures in 2023 as it shifted from a broader entrepreneurship program toward a dedicated venture capital mandate. Headquartered in Dhahran at the Dhahran Techno Valley, the firm operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Aramco.

Wa'ed Ventures invests in seed through growth-stage technology companies across artificial intelligence, deep tech, fintech, and industrial software, with maximum ticket sizes raised to $20 million in 2021. As of 2025, the firm reported deploying approximately $270 million across more than 75 portfolio companies, with $100 million earmarked over three years for early-stage artificial intelligence investments announced in October 2024.
