Flow Engineering raises $50M to bring the power of AI to hardware engineering

Flow Engineering raises $50M to bring the power of AI to hardware engineering

Agentic artificial intelligence-powered hardware systems design platform Flow Engineering Inc. announced Wednesday it raised $50 million in early-stage funding to change how engineers develop and integrate complex hardware lifecycles as quickly as software.

The Series B round was co-led by Antonio Gracias, founder of Valor Equity Partners and Gavin Baker, Managing Partner at Atreides Management. Sequoia Capital, which also led the company’s Series A round, also participated in the round alongside Human Capital, Evantic, SV Angel, Odyssey and EQT. The new funding boosted the company’s valuation to $750 million.

Artificial intelligence has changed how software is developed, shortening the lifecycle from code to production from weeks to days, to sometimes hours. Flow wants to bring that same shift to hardware development, allowing teams of engineers to take the hard problem of simulating mechanical, electrical and software systems that interact directly with the real world and coordinate in parallel alongside numerous requirements and constraints into more rapid development cycles.

“Every hardware company now has to decide how fast it will adopt AI, and those that move first will win their markets,” said founder and Chief Executive Pari Singh.

Flow uses AI agents that can cut development cycles from months to days for validation and verification. They work within computer-aided design, Git, simulations and Docs to run impact analysis, flag conflicts and detect requirements failures.

Hardware engineers can react to stress variables, constraints, issues and other developmental guides faster because they have a digital coworker that can see the entire project all at once as they’re putting together their project. The company said hardware development timelines are starting to shorten from years for major revisions to minor changes being integrated and verified daily.

Singh explained that the entire system was modeled after Skunkworks philosophy where teams run lean, and ownership lies with the engineers closest to the work. He cited the acceleration of inventions at the pinnacle of high technology, such as reusable rockets, nuclear reactors and autonomous vehicles.

“When I became an engineer, I wanted to invent. In reality, 90% of the day-to-day execution work was digital manual labor,” Singh said in a blog post. “That’s about to flip.”

Since the company’s Series A round, one year ago in October 2025, Flow has added further category leaders in space, manufacturing and automotive as customers, including GM Performance Power Units LLC, Rivian Automotive Inc. and Volkswagen AG’s joint venture RV Tech, Anduril Industries Inc., Stoke Space Technologies Inc., Intuitive Machines Inc. and Pacific Fusion Corp. They join existing customers Rivian, Joby Aviation Inc., Astranis Space Technologies Corp. and Radiant Industries Inc., which already use Flow as their default development platform.

“We evaluated 30 tools and nothing came close to Flow. It allows Rivian to develop faster, safer and better by bringing a collaborative approach to systems engineering,” said Scott Mackenzie, Director of Product Development, Process and Tools at Rivian.

Flow said it would use the new funding to build the leading AI harness for hardware engineering, bringing frontier models to engineers so they can work with secure data. The company plans to grow its engineering team across AI and systems engineering and pursue FedRAMP authorization and other certifications to satisfy customers in regulated industries.
