Samantha Bartram has joined the Kokosing Nature Preserve, Kenyon's conservation burial ground, as the new green burial coordinator. “Nature has long been my refuge,” said Bartram. “I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to share that healing experience with others.” Bartram is responsible for all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the preserve. In 2025, Philander Chase Conservancy will host a variety of events and initiatives to celebrate 25 years of collaboration with farmers, landowners, environmental organizations and government agencies to preserve the region’s rural charm and over 6,000 acres of conserved lands.
Awarded by the Board of Directors of the Philander Chase Conservancy, the Jean S. Briggs Award for Leadership in Land Conservation was established in 2022 to recognize extraordinary leadership in protecting the natural beauty, health and vibrancy of the rural lands surrounding Gambier and Kenyon College. College is a major investment, and we believe that Kenyon students are worth it. That’s why we commit to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for qualifying students, for all four years of college. We offer need-based financial aid, including grants, student loans and campus work. We also award merit scholarships and participate in loan programs not based on financial need.
Kenyon administers a variety of need-based loan programs funded by endowments and gifts. Kenyon College Loans have an interest rate of 5 percent, which begins to accrue from the date of disbursement. Repayment of principal and interest is made in monthly installments over a maximum period of 6 years beginning 9 months after graduation, withdrawal or dismissal from Kenyon. Repayment periods may be extended during periods of deferment, hardship or forbearance and graduated installments may be made
We were the first college in the country to introduce the model of professors serving as academic advisors. Today, this celebrated practice continues to be a distinguishing feature of a Kenyon education.
As Kenyon continues into its third century, we are honored to serve as the co-chairs of the Kenyon Parents Council.
