UCSF› offers Preclinical MR Imaging and Spectroscopy
ServiceOperating Status: Currently Offered
UCSF offers preclinical MRI and spectroscopy, including hyperpolarized carbon-13 studies, through its research core.
UCSF’s preclinical magnetic-resonance imaging and spectroscopy core provides instruments and research support for biomedical samples. Its imaging and spectroscopy systems are integrated with dynamic nuclear polarization equipment for hyperpolarized carbon-13 experiments. Researchers can study rodents, tissue samples, cell cultures, and perfused cell or tissue bioreactors.
The service supports imaging-biomarker research and translation through several complementary magnetic-resonance systems. Its official buyer page lists recharge rates and study-application routes, including a request pathway for investigators outside UCSF. External requests undergo review by the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging before access to equipment and resources is arranged.
