Overview

Anthropic's API gives developers direct access to Claude, Anthropic's family of frontier large language models, through a REST interface for chat, completions, and tool use.

It is the model-provider counterpart to OpenRouter's multi-provider gateway: teams that standardize on Claude can call it directly, but lose the single-key, multi-model routing and price comparison that OpenRouter adds across providers.
