Patented intrauterine device insertion system in preclinical development that consolidates IUD placement instruments.
The IUD Inserter is a patented insertion system designed to consolidate the four to five instruments conventionally used in intrauterine device placement into a single intuitive device. It is designed for use with intrauterine devices from numerous manufacturers and to pair with the company's cervical suction retractor.
The comprehensive insertion system remains in preclinical testing and is positioned as the platform for the company's product pipeline. The underlying insertion system received the 2013 Saving Lives at Birth award, and a reusable variant intended for low-resource settings was funded through a Grand Challenges grant.
