Pulse Space began as a specialist in beaming power to spacecraft and broadened once it found that one orbital laser could do more than charge a satellite. Its core business is remote, on-demand power distribution: a spacecraft collects solar energy and relays it by laser to a customer's own solar arrays, easing the reliance on batteries as a satellite passes through shadowed regions. The same platform also supports space situational awareness and long-range optical communications.
On the power side it displaces the alternatives a spacecraft operator already has, principally batteries carried for eclipse survival and larger solar arrays, and its differentiation is that a single laser asset serves power transfer, object tracking, and data transmission rather than one job. Its customers are government space and defense programs and commercial spacecraft operators who need energy and awareness where a fixed power source cannot follow.
