Storyboarder is Wonder Unit's free and open-source storyboarding application for Mac, Windows, and Linux. It pairs a pressure-sensitive drawing surface with six board tools, instant board add, duplicate, and rearrange, dialogue, action, timing, and shot-type metadata, onion skinning, a reference layer, and round-trip editing in Photoshop; printed worksheets can be filled in on paper and imported by phone photo.
Boards export to Premiere, Final Cut, Avid, PDF, and animated GIF for animatics and pitch sharing, and a Shot Generator assembles reference shots from typed descriptions. Story artists, directors, writers, and advertisers use the tool, which Wonder Unit reports is used by 150,000 people.
