China Merchants Venture

China Merchants Venture is the corporate venture capital platform of China Merchants Group, set up to identify, nurture, and integrate technology-driven projects within the group's industrial value chain. The platform manages capital raised against the group's industrial footprint and invests alongside corporate and financial partners.

It takes early positions in technology startups whose products touch the group's businesses, robotics and embodied intelligence among them, and has increased stakes in later rounds alongside the group's industrial network. That corporate-platform position differs from financially driven venture funds: its checks come with access to the group's operating companies rather than a standalone venture thesis.
