The Catholic Union of Texas, The KJT is a fraternal benefit insurance society that sells life insurance to its members and is licensed only in Texas, operating under the lodge system with a representative form of government. A group of male Czech immigrants held the initial meeting and election of provisional officers in Bluff, Texas, now Hostyn, and the society offers whole life and term life products.
Term plans are renewable when age permits and can convert to a permanent plan without proving insurability. Membership grants access to member benefits and activities, and to volunteering that raises money for the charities the Union supports.
