Apollo Atomics is developing compact nuclear reactors based on a redesigned steam generator, the component that dominates the footprint of a conventional pressurized-water reactor. By shrinking that single component roughly twenty-fold, the company aims to reduce the overall reactor system to a fraction of its traditional size while keeping the well-understood physics and licensing pathway of pressurized-water designs.

Its roadmap spans small units for distributed deployment up to grid-scale machines, pitched at customers that need clean, high-uptime power delivered on short construction timelines. The technical approach draws on years of university nuclear-engineering research, and the team combines reactor-design experience from large European utilities with startup operating backgrounds.
