Ardent is a Postgres database sandboxing platform for coding agents and developers. It replicates a production database into a read replica and creates isolated branches from it in seconds, with each branch functioning as a full PostgreSQL database containing real data. Branches autoscale compute, suspend after five minutes of inactivity, and resume on reconnect, while storage costs apply only to changed data.
The platform ships as a git-style command-line tool with create, switch, info, and delete operations, plus an agent skill that lets coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor drive setup. It connects to Supabase, AWS RDS, PlanetScale, and self-hosted Postgres without migration, and supports anonymization hooks for removing personal data before results are returned to agents.
