Managed Postgres is Supabase's dedicated PostgreSQL database offering. Each project starts with a standalone Postgres database that can be used independently or alongside the provider's other services. Optional row-level security, realtime subscriptions, and generated APIs connect the database to application workflows.
The offering preserves standard Postgres portability, so teams can bring an existing database or migrate it away. A table editor and SQL editor provide browser-based data management, while database branching supports preview workflows. Read replicas let applications place data nearer users and move complex queries away from the primary database.
