Big Kelp

Big Kelp cultivates giant kelp coastally and in the open ocean as a raw material for climate, agricultural, and industrial products. Fast-growing seaweed draws carbon from the atmosphere and ocean while building marine habitats that support fish and shellfish stocks.

The same crop serves three uses most approaches treat separately: carbon removal, a red kelp supplement that cuts methane from cattle digestion, and biodegradable substitutes for oil-based plastics, fertilizers, and synthetic fabrics. Farming at sea keeps this output free of the land, water, and feed demands that constrain land-grown alternatives.
