Sunken Seaweed

Sunken Seaweed is an ocean-farming company that grows native sea greens in coastal Pacific waters, pairing seaweed with shellfish in submerged and land-based systems designed to improve water quality, sequester carbon, and rebuild marine habitat. Its culinary harvests supply chefs, food distributors, and retail stores.

Where conventional aquaculture pursues yield alone, Sunken Seaweed runs its farms as marine permaculture under port-side pilot agreements, making restoration of kelp ecosystems part of food production itself. That dual role as both seafood supplier and ocean-restoration practitioner positions it in California's emerging regenerative ocean-farming market.
