New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket for crewed space tourism and research flights.
New Shepard is a reusable suborbital launch vehicle developed by Blue Origin for crewed space tourism and microgravity research. The system consists of a rocket booster and a crew capsule, both designed for vertical landing under parachutes after brief flights above the Karman line.
Named after astronaut Alan Shepard, the vehicle has flown dozens of uncrewed and crewed missions, carrying commercial passengers and research payloads to space. New Shepard is intended to democratize access to space through short-duration flights providing a few minutes of weightlessness and panoramic views of Earth.
