A managed virtual power plant service that aggregates and dispatches partner customers' home batteries and EVs.
Light enrolls and operates distributed energy devices — home batteries, electric vehicles and smart HVAC systems — end to end, capturing value from time-spread trading and grid dispatch events that number in the tens per year. At least 20 percent of battery capacity is reserved for homeowner emergencies at all times, and manufacturer storm-watch settings such as Enphase Storm Guard are respected during severe weather so batteries charge to full for backup.
Partners choose between a fixed revenue model and a revenue-share model, and may retain the proceeds or pass them through to end customers. Enrollment and opt-out run through the partner and are synchronized with Light over API; opting out revokes device control without changing the customer's underlying electricity rate, and the program is compatible with solar loans and other financing agreements.
