Microsoft container network interface plug-in that assigns Azure Virtual Network IP addresses to Kubernetes pods.
Azure CNI is Microsoft's container network interface implementation for Azure Kubernetes Service and for Kubernetes clusters hosted in Azure. The plug-in assigns IP addresses to containers directly from an Azure Virtual Network, so pods communicate with each other, with peered networks, and with on-premises resources without network address translation.
Azure CNI supports Kubernetes network policy and integrates with Azure Virtual Network features such as custom user-defined routes and IP address management. Microsoft documents it as the default pod networking option for Azure Kubernetes Service clusters.
