Project financing provides tailored EBRD loans and equity investments for eligible private-sector projects.
Currently Offered
The EBRD offers direct project financing to private-sector projects that meet its eligibility and governance criteria, generally in the range of US$5 million to US$250 million per project in the form of loans or equity, with an average investment of about US$25 million. Loans can be structured fixed or floating rate, senior, subordinated, mezzanine or convertible, denominated in major currencies, with maturities of up to 15 years, up to 18 years for large infrastructure operations.
Credit risk can be taken entirely by the Bank or partly syndicated to the market, and the EBRD does not subsidise projects or offer soft loans. Projects too small for direct financing are supported through local commercial banks via credit lines, bank-to-bank loans and equity investments in local banks, which on-lend to smaller businesses and municipalities.
