The Computer Vision Center is a non-profit research centre with independent legal status, established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and located on the UAB Bellaterra campus. It is accredited as a CERCA centre and as a TECNIO technology-transfer unit, and its activity covers computer-vision research, industrial technology transfer and researcher training.
The centre maintains open-source autonomy software alongside its research programme, most notably the CARLA driving simulator, which it co-hosts with the Embodied AI Foundation. Around CARLA it offers consortium membership, software development, premium support and consulting to industrial and research users, and its research has produced a series of computer-vision spin-off companies.
