DEICON›DEICON› offers Tuned Acoustic Absorbers

DEICON designs and fabricates tuned acoustic absorbers for narrow-band noise, including Helmholtz resonators, quarter wave tubes, perforated acoustic liners, and passive acoustic radiators. The firm built a finite element analysis tool to size these absorbers and to evaluate tuned absorption in any acoustic environment using acoustic impedance boundary conditions.

Applications include quieting blade-passage tone on axial fans, dampening standing waves in enclosures and ducts, engine intake and exhaust systems, industrial mufflers, and aircraft engine nacelles. For low frequencies where passive devices become too large and heavy, DEICON supplies active tuned absorbers using microphones, accelerometers, and loudspeaker actuation under a tunable controller.
