eProsima Fast DDS is a permissively licensed C++ implementation of the Object Management Group's Data Distribution Service and RTPS standards, engineered for low-latency, high-throughput, data-centric communication across embedded, desktop, and cloud deployments. It provides configurable quality-of-service policies, multiple discovery mechanisms, shared-memory and selectable transports, security plugins, and extensible type support.

The library serves as the default middleware in every Robot Operating System 2 long-term-support release, and eProsima also offers commercially supported editions with professional tooling. Teams adopt it either as the communication layer beneath a robotics framework or standalone, for distributed systems that need publish-subscribe data exchange without adopting a full robot application framework.
