Private-company research usually dies in one of two places: a search box that cannot understand the question, or an AI chatbot that answers with total confidence and zero receipts. The aVenture research agent, live now in the aVenture macOS app and across the web platform, is built to avoid both. You ask a plain-English question, the agent reads its sources while you watch, and the answer arrives as a structured draft with a link on every claim.
Ask the question you would give an analyst
A research thread in the macOS app starts with a single sentence. "Research Anthropic: products, funding, and competitive landscape" is the kind of brief you would hand a junior analyst, and it is all the agent needs.
Once the run starts, the thread shows its work in real time. Each source is listed as the agent reads it: the company's own site, its Wikipedia entry, its LinkedIn page, current press coverage. The reading happens before any claim is written, and the run can be stopped mid-flight.

An enterprise AI research run in the macOS app: five web queries, 25 sources, and an editable cited draft.
The finished answer is a document, not a chat bubble: a company summary, the product lineup with a source per product, the funding record, and a competitive landscape that names rivals and states where each comparison number comes from. Beside it sits a related-company card with the company's stage and products, one click from the full aVenture profile, so a thread can turn into deeper reading without starting over.
Read it like a researcher, not a believer
Every figure in the draft carries its source link inline: the valuation, the revenue run-rate, the market-share comparison. You never have to take the agent's word for a number. Open the page it read and check.

The draft is not locked output, either. It can be edited in place, and Show changes keeps the revision history visible. Threads are kept, so a question you asked last month can be continued with a follow-up instead of a fresh search.
The same agent powers the web platform
You do not need the app to feel the difference. The search bar in the aventure.vc header, the one that says "Search or describe what you're looking for," accepts a plain-English question rather than just a name, and the results page groups what it finds into Companies, Products & Services, and Investors. When the search planner has to set part of a query aside, the page says how it read your request and what it could not apply, instead of silently guessing.

A plain-English search on aventure.vc, read by the planner and grouped by what it actually found.
The agent is also what fills the gaps. When a company is not covered yet, a one-URL request sends our research agents and team to build the profile; the full flow is in our coverage request post. And because agent research lands in the same source-backed graph behind every profile, an answer in the app and a profile on the web never tell two different stories. The engineering behind that graph is its own post: Agent-Powered Research.
