African Women's Development Fund

The African Women's Development Fund is an independent African feminist foundation based in Accra, Ghana. It raises and redistributes resources to autonomous women's rights organisations, collectives, and feminist movements led by women, girls, and gender-diverse people on the continent.

The fund works through periodic open calls for proposals and prioritises long-term, flexible funding under a ten-year strategic framework. Alongside grantmaking, it supports capacity building, knowledge sharing, and movement building, and has disbursed more than USD 123 million in grants to over 1,900 partner organisations across roughly 52 countries in Africa and the Middle East since its inception.
