When aVenture Research launched on iPhone, iPad, and the Mac in September, it did three things: search, a company brief, and a two-company comparison. Since then, the apps have added screen lookup, Siri and Spotlight search, the research agent, and saved lists that sync with the website.
Look up the companies on your screen
Visual Lookup finds the companies and people in a screenshot or a page and shows the matching aVenture records as tiles, each with its industry, headquarters, and stage. Results stream in as they resolve, so the first tiles appear before the whole page is done. You can start a lookup in these places:
- On iPhone and iPad, use Visual Intelligence on a screenshot, share a web page or image to aVenture from any app, or paste an image into Search.
- On the Mac, choose Look Up Screenshot…, or use Visual Intelligence on macOS 27. Results appear in the command bar.
Visual Lookup is experimental. Turn it on under Experimental in the app's settings: on iPhone and iPad it needs iOS 26 or later, and on the Mac the setting is Apple Visual Intelligence (Experimental).
Ask Siri or search from Spotlight
Company search now works in Siri, Shortcuts, and Spotlight. Ask Siri to search or compare companies in aVenture, send a question to the aVenture agent on iOS 27, use the same actions in Shortcuts, or type a company name into Spotlight to find its record. Siri and Shortcuts are on by default, and you can turn them off under Siri & Shortcuts in the app's settings.
A redesigned iPhone and iPad app
The iPhone and iPad app is organized around five tabs: News, Saved, Agent, Search, and Settings.
- News opens with platform totals, trending companies, recent funding rounds, active investors, and venture news.
- Search is a full directory of companies, investors, and people, with filters to narrow it down. Your Recently Viewed records and the records you sent for research, under Recently Enriched, sit at the top. Type a question instead of a name and choose Ask the agent.
- Saved holds your saved lists. Add any company or person with Add to List, and the list is the same one you see on the website.
- Agent is the aVenture research agent, built into the app. Ask a research question and get a structured answer.
Company and person records now have an action row: Ask agent, Share, Update this record, and, when you are signed in, Add to List. Update this record can send AI agents to re-research the record or ask our team for a specific fix. Tapping an email address or phone number on a profile opens Mail or Phone.
The research agent on the Mac
The Mac app's research agent is now quicker to reach and takes more kinds of input:
- Quick Chat stays open until you press Escape, so you can keep asking while you work in another window.
- Attach a screenshot, an image, or a PDF to a question, and the agent reads it with the question.
- Ask "who is" or "what is" a company or person, and the agent searches aVenture first.
Plans and usage inside the app
You can see your plan and current allowance usage in the app, and subscribe to AI Plus or AI Pro as a monthly subscription through the App Store. The app also tells you when a newer version is ready to install.
